Lead UI-UX Designer

The Opportunity


We are currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated Lead UX / UI Designer who thrives in a collaborative team environment, has outstanding interpersonal skills, a strong design portfolio, and wants to be part of an agile and progressive team. You are passionate about creating intuitive and insightful experiences for users, insights that can drive truly user-centric innovation and product development. Help us turn business objectives into customer-centered solutions.


Portfolio required: strong product design thinking, case studies, user research evidence in portfolio.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the discovery phase to help identify and understand the project’s strategic goals, user needs, and technical constraints that define the design space

  • Participate in user interviews to better understand what each user role is trying to accomplish and the problems they are trying to solve

  • Produce conceptual designs to socialize initial ideas internally and externally and incorporate design feedback

  • Present complex data intuitively. These may be prototypes, presentations, sketches, models, diagrams, workflows, user flows, or wireframes

  • Produce clickable prototypes that help evaluate the overall flow and experience of the product

  • Annotate design deliverables to ensure the design intent is clearly communicated to the development team and that there is a sufficient level of detail provided to support the implementation process

  • Review the implementation of the designs by the development team to ensure it meets business goals and design intent


Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or equivalent experience

  • 5 years UX/UI design experience

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, meeting expected milestones

  • A detailed understanding of user-centered design, with excellent hands-on design skills enjoying customer and partner interaction

  • Proven ability to formally present and articulate ideas effectively

  • Passion for designing visualizations that help people find meaning in data

  • Comfortable with an iterative design process

  • Highly collaborative and can work well in a fast-paced team environment

  • Ability to produce effective design documentation

  • Understanding of responsive web design: React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.

  • Familiar with modern Software Development concepts, Jira, Gitlab, etc.

  • Experience with design tools such as Sketch, InVision, or Illustrator other design and prototyping tools
